The Autism Integrated Medical Services (AIMS) is the multidisciplinary team of physicians working closely with ABLE. This is where patients can get MSP-covered services such as developmental and behavioural paediatrics and medical genetic consultation (some genetic services are not MSP-covered), as well as specialized private services. Dr. Edgar Jiménez, Dr. Suzanne Lewis, Dr. Melvin de Levie, Dr. Jennifer Slater, and Heather MacRitchie make up the AIMS team at our Richmond location.

Dr. Edgar Jiménez, BSc MD FRCP(C)
Dr. Jiménez is a community developmental and behavioural paediatrician offering MSP-covered and private services. Private services include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions (CDBC) and Community Living BC (CLBC) assessments for children aged 0 – 18 years.
Dr. Jiménez offers an array of MSP-covered medical services, such as:
- General paediatrics consultations
- Developmental and behavioural paediatric consultations, including ADHD
- Autism query consultations
- FASD query consultations
- Limited mental health consultations and ongoing care
- Ongoing developmental and general paediatric care
Dr. Suzanne Lewis, H.BSc.,MD, FCCMG, FRCPC(C)
Dr. Lewis is a highly specialized paediatrician with a strong focus on medical genetics and genetic research. She offers MSP-covered services as well as private genetic services in partnership with BC Children’s and Women’s Health Centre. Some of her services offered include:
– Genetic assessments
– Molecular You testing
– Whole Exome Sequencing
– Paediatric consultations
Heather MacRitchie
Heather is our genetic counsellor and works closely with Dr. Suzanne Lewis to provide specialized genetic care to patients with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Jennifer Slater, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Jennifer Slater is a child and adolescent psychiatrist specializing in the diagnostic assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions and mental health challenges. She completed her medical training in Ireland, and residency training at Dalhousie University. She has been a Qualified specialist for BCAAN at Sunnyhill for the past 4 years providing Autism Assessments, and has almost 10 years experience providing general pediatric psychiatric care in the community. She brings a unique skill set, with a particular interest in higher functioning older children and adolescents. She has expertise in Autism, Gifted learning profiles, Anxiety disorders, ADHD and psychotic illness. She also holds an academic position at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Marilyn Champagne, MDCM, FRCPC
Dr. Marilyn Champagne is a child and adolescent psychiatrist specializing in infant/preschool psychiatry. She completed medical school in 2008 at McGill University before going to University of Ottawa to complete a residency in psychiatry in 2013 and and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry subspecialty in 2014, which involved experience in perinatal psychiatry, infant psychiatry, and developmental pediatrics. She has been working for 6 years at the Early Childhood Mental Health Program at Richmond Hospital, and is a Qualified Specialist for BCAAN at SunnyHill. Dr. Champagne is very engaged in medical student and resident teaching as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC, and has held several leadership positions in the department of psychiatry related to medical education.
